I’m not saying it’s just China

March 15th, 2012 § 0

With the last post about the banking incident, there might be some perception that I am saying that only in China time isn’t worth anything. I’m not. It’s just one encounter of someone who had an issue with a bank in China.

I’m not saying that America couldn’t have the same thing happen. But.. With what I have seen and dealt with in my own life, I have never seen a bank, nor heard of a bank doing anything close to tracking down a customer for 7 cents.

Take it as you will.

With most of what I write, I would like to put a disclaimer out. First, it’s not only China that has things happen. It’s everywhere. It might happen more here, or perhaps, I’m just cynical. I don’t know. But I may just write it like China is the only place in the world that butchers a cow on the sidewalk. It’s probably not, but, it would for sure not happen in my home town.

Again, take it as you will.

Uh, where’d all the milk go.

March 3rd, 2012 § 2

I ordered my coffee, it always takes forever. Mostly because they never brew coffee until someone orders it.

I always have to wait. I guess no one person in the entire city comes to Starbucks, the only place with semi good coffee, and orders a weekly brew.

Today it took twice as long. The first brew I am betting they forgot to put the filter in.

They delivered the cup of coffee to my table. I ate my sandwich.

Something caught the corner of my eye at the bar where they keep the sugar, milk, and napkins. It was a women. I watched her take the lid off her cup, open the milk thermos, and fill up her entire cup with free milk. She emptied the thermos, leaving me with none.

How great is China.

And to just set the record straight, I rant equally.

One of the 458s

February 22nd, 2012 § 0

Let’s see in the past week I’ve seen a red 458, a white 458, a black 458, a black 599, and a red 599. Plus countless other cars that I will not ever be able to afford.

I was riding the bus the other day and took this video of the red 458 driving along.

Oh how life isn’t fair.

From what little searching I have found a new 458 in Shanghai goes for upwards of 800K USD. Maybe even a million. But who knows for sure. So, with that you could by my apartment that I currently rent about, oh, 18 times over.

I uploaded another video, this time of a white 458.

Life’s good.

The Abandoned Factory

December 18th, 2011 § 0

Well, maybe not abandoned. More like went under and there hasn’t been many people there, if any.

I went there to check machines, or really, because I was bored and wanted photos of a Chinese factory to creep everyone out.

Anyway, here they are.

And a fire on the way back.

Got my gestures back.

October 20th, 2011 § 0

Sorry Apple. I got my gestures back. I used Redsn0w to perform a jailbreak type thing to get them back.

So anyway.. I’m back to being a happy camper.

So tired

September 24th, 2011 § 0

I’ve been tired lately. Tired of a lot of things. But really just plain tired. Work a lot when I probably shouldn’t. Then try to do personal projects and just can’t. Too tired.

How the hell is anyone supposed to do anything. Anyway.. I’m trying to blog more. I really don’t know what to blog about though. I don’t want to become a news filter blog thing where I just post links and what not. I suppose that it would help the blog rating in the search engines but I don’t want to be fake. I want to be personal. Kinda anyway.

So yeah if you got questions about China let me have them. I’ll tell it to you straight.

I don’t think that I am scary

August 6th, 2011 § 0

It’s Chinese Valentines day or something like that. Qixi festival. Basically just another day to me. Nothing much. It also the day that the typhoon was supposed to roll in. But it has been more of a dud than I expected. Te way my coworkers talked I thought the factory was going to be blown away today.

Anywho.

I decided to roll into town and see what was going on. I was guess that it was going to be a bunch of couples all holding hands and being all cheesy. I was right.

But what I didn’t notice was what is happening right now. I think people are scared of me. Or it’s just me over thinking the situation.

Here I sit at Starbucks. Because there are no western bars here I am stuck with the thing that resembles them the most, a coffee shop. Where I can sit and drink coffee, read the news, and look at the hotties.

Now, why would I think that everyone is scared of me, well, mainly because they seem to avoid me like the plague. I just had a pair of girls walk around the corner, spot the empty seats next to me, then spot me, and I watched there smiles fade away like sunshine before a typhoon.

Happened a few minutes ago too. I am sitting around a coffee table with 7 seats around it. Just me punched up like a bird of paradise flaunting his feathers.

Hell who am I kidding, they don’t see many foreigners so they probably are scared.

I mean, I would be too if some hot ass foreigner was sitting all alone. Wouldn’t you?

Ordering in China

July 2nd, 2011 § 0

I’m beginning to think that Chinese are the most indecisive people on the face of the earth. It doesn’t take 5 minutes to order a double cheese burger people. Also, what’s with not reading the menus while you are in line. I mean, you waited in line, look at the damn menu, decide what you want and then when you order spit it out. Also for the love of Christ read the menu and use the exact same words. Don’t say “I want that thing” or “what’s that.” Because if you looked at the menu you would know what it’s called and be able to order it without a free lesson in your native language about what things are called.

Waterways.

June 11th, 2011 § 0

This is a typical waterway here. I am guessing that they were used for transportation. Now they are mostly used for washing clothes and what not. Also a landfill, which is sad. This is a back alley one that is fairly far from the city center, so it’s polluted. Oh, did I mention that they raise fish in these things. At least I’m pretty sure they do.
